Biography – Early Life & Career
Ali Fazal was born on 15 October 1986 (age 34 Years in 2020)in Lucknow city of Uttar Pradesh. His father worked in the Gulf countries and from the beginning, his relationship with his wife was not good. His parents then separated from each other due to a domestic dispute and then later divorced in the year 2004 (when Ali was 18 years old).
Due to the quarrels of his parents, Ali spent his entire childhood with his maternal grandparents ( in a village near the Ganges). Ali was raised by his mother because of his father’s separation.
Ali did his schooling from Dehradun’s famous school, The Doon School and at that time he dreamed of becoming a basketball player. He used to play basketball very well during the school days and he used to dream of playing this game at the international level. But he suffered a fracture during the match, after which he had to leave basketball forever.
Guddu Bhaiya’s Acting Career
Along with basketball, he was also fond of acting and when he stopped playing, he started taking more interest in acting. During his school years, he started performing in theatres and on his own brilliant acting he became a part of many big plays including William Shakespeare’s famous play “The Tempest”.
It was because of these theatre performances that he got his roles early in his career. However, Ali has said in one of his interviews that he used to act as an amateur during school days and never thought of becoming a Bollywood actor.
Then after finishing school, he shifted to Mumbai for further studies where he graduated in economics from St. Xavier’s College. His father was separate from him, that is why he used to spend his education and that is why he used to act in theatres as well.
Seeing his brilliant acting in the theatre, many casting directors and film producers offered him small roles in films. Then through theatre, Ali got the first special role of his life from the 2008 Indian-American film “The Other End of the Line”. When Ali was offered this role, he knew that this role was very short but he did not want to miss the opportunity to work with Aamir Khan in his career at that time.
When the film was released, the character played by Ali was highly praised by the people. During an interview, Ali said that he was in the third year of his college when he did 3 Idiots film and he paid his college fees with the money he got from working through this film.

Actually, he appeared in the Hollywood film “Fast and Furious 7” in 2015 and the story of his role in this film is also very funny. The team of Fast and Furious was looking for an Indian actor to play a character of Indian guy Safar in this film and they had done more than 800 auditions.
While the auditions were going on, Ali went there to celebrate his holiday. Then when Ali’s agent told him about the audition, he did not show any special interest in it but had recorded some clips on his mobile and sent it to casting team. When the casting team of Fast and Furious saw these clips and selected him for this role.
